The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to learning in higher education, including in Technical English courses as part of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). Digital-based learning provides flexibility and broad access to learning resources; however, it also presents various challenges for both lecturers and students. This study aims to examine the challenges faced in learning Technical English in the digital era. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with lecturers who teach Technical English courses and engineering students in higher education as the research subjects. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation of sources and methods to ensure data validity. The results show that lecturers face challenges in digital literacy, developing contextual materials, and maintaining interaction in online learning. Students encounter obstacles such as low motivation for independent learning, limited academic digital literacy, and difficulties in understanding technical terms. Therefore, institutional support, enhancement of lecturers digital competencies, and the design of interactive and contextual learning are required.
