Review Policy
JET Li applies a double-blind peer review process: the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review.
1. Initial Screening
Each new submission is first checked by the editorial team for its fit with the journal’s focus and scope, its compliance with the Author Guidelines and the JET Li template, and its similarity level as measured by Turnitin. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements are returned to the authors or rejected without review. Initial screening is normally completed within two weeks.
2. Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are anonymized and sent to at least two reviewers with expertise in the field. Reviewers assess the manuscript’s originality and contribution, the clarity of the research problem, the soundness of the methodology, the quality of the analysis and discussion, the consistency of the conclusions with the findings, and the relevance and recency of the references. Reviewers are asked to submit their reports within four weeks.
3. Editorial Decisions
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept submission: the manuscript is accepted without further changes.
- Revisions required: the manuscript needs minor revisions, which are checked by the editor.
- Resubmit for review: the manuscript needs major revisions and is sent back to the reviewers after revision.
- Decline submission: the manuscript is rejected.
When reviewers disagree, the editor may invite an additional reviewer. The final decision rests with the Editor in Chief.
4. Revisions
Authors are asked to return the revised manuscript within two weeks for minor revisions or four weeks for major revisions together with a response letter that explains how each comment has been addressed. Manuscripts that are not returned within this period may be treated as new submissions.
5. Production
Accepted manuscripts go through copyediting and layout in the JET Li template. Authors receive the galley proof for a final check before publication. The full process, from submission to publication, normally takes two to four months.
6. Confidentiality and reviewer conduct
Manuscripts under review are confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, cite, or use any part of a manuscript for their own purposes, and must decline an invitation if they have a conflict of interest. Reviews should be objective and constructive, and personal criticism of the authors is not appropriate.
